What Is “Make Music Day”?
Make Music Day is a free day of music inspired by “Make Music New York” and many other Make Music day’s across the United States. We hope to create a day similar to Frances “Fête de la Musique,” a national musical holiday inaugurated in 1982. “Fête de la Musique,” is now an international phenomenon with similar events celebrated in more than 725 cities around the world. Who’s Organizing This? Make Music Day is a “DIY” (do it yourself) and "DIT " (do it together) event. The coordinator is Montclair resident, Greg Pason who serves as the convener of the Montclair Make Music Day Collective. The Collective is made up of volunteers, musicians, non-profits, small business owners and students, with one purpose- top bring free music to town and promote "Make Music Day" All local residents are invited to join the collective meetings and take part in organizing a great day of music. How Do I Get Involved? Contact Greg Pason at 973-996-1166 or e-mail [email protected]. H |
